2024 – Manufacturing, food production, construction – South Africa

Summary of the project 2024 – Manufacturing, food production, construction – South Africa

The Partnering in Business with Germany Program (PG), funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection (BMWK), supported managers from South Africa in 2024 in establishing business relationships with German companies. The central stay in Germany took place from May 6 to 17, 2024 and focused on the manufacturing, food production and construction sectors.

The PG promoted foreign trade and helped small and medium-sized German companies to open up international markets, particularly in emerging and developing countries. As the implementing organization, trAIDe GmbH prepared executives from one of the 17 partner countries for business contacts in a comprehensive and long-term project.

The program consisted of three phases: In the online phase, participants were prepared for their business start-ups through training and advice, including targeted partner searches and intercultural training. The subsequent stay in Germany enabled the delegation from South Africa to visit selected companies and take part in B2B meetings with potential business partners. A follow-up phase and networking event deepened the relationships established.

South Africa, as Africa’s dynamic economic center, impresses with its strategic location and diversity of resources. With a diversified sector mix ranging from mining and agriculture to advanced technologies and a robust infrastructure, the country is positioning itself as an attractive location for international business and investment.

The delegation from South Africa included companies from various sectors, including cosmetics, healthcare, textiles, jewelry, food, renewable energy and construction. Many of these companies were looking to expand their global distribution networks by seeking export opportunities or establishing joint ventures and strategic partnerships.

This program offered participants the opportunity to gain valuable insights into the German economy and establish significant international business relationships.

Projektförderung

On behalf of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection (BMWK), trAIDe GmbH organized a business initiation trip for German companies in cooperation with a local partner.

This is a project-related funding measure carried out as part of the market development program for SMEs. The primary target group consists of small and medium-sized German companies (SMEs).

In the future, business development trips will continue to be an effective way to open up excellent business opportunities for German companies across a variety of sectors. Products ‘Made in Germany’ generally enjoy an excellent reputation and are valued worldwide for their high quality.
