The Project
The Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK) supports German firms in a variety of ways. The range of support measures offered by the BMWK have been efficiently coordinated and bundled together under the umbrella initiative “Mittelstand Global” (Global SMEs).

To support companies with environmental technology products in their portfolio as they venture onto new markets abroad, the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action launched its Environmental Technologies Export Initiative in 2015. The focus of this initiative is on products or services from the fields of sustainable water management, the circular economy, clean air, noise reduction and sustainable mobility. The Environmental Technologies Export Initiative uses the modules developed for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) under the Foreign Market Entry Programme. This Programme assists German SMEs during all stages of their export activities. Participating businesses receive widespread support from the initial stages of market exploration up to the making of actual business contacts, e.g., by providing first-hand market information, organizing exploration trips and building networks. Key element of this support is the personal assistance during preparation, implementation and follow-up of these measures to ensure that the business arrangements are of high quality and sustainable.
This visit to Colombia is part of the initiating business opportunities module of the Foreign Market Entry Programme and will facilitate business contacts as well as provide important impulses for the further intensification of the fruitful co-operation between Colombia and Germany.
