The Project
The Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy Action (BMWi) supports German firms in a variety of ways. The range of support measures offered by the BMWi have been efficiently coordinated and bundled together under the umbrella initiative “Mittelstand Global” (Global SMEs).

To support German healthcare companies in expanding into international markets, the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy launched the Export Initiative for the Healthcare Industry. Operating under the umbrella brand “Health – Made in Germany,” this initiative aims to strengthen the global presence of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) from key segments such as pharmaceuticals, medical technology, digital health, and biotechnology. The initiative provides targeted support to companies throughout all stages of their internationalization process, helping them access new markets and build strong international partnerships.
The support offered includes comprehensive and up-to-date market information through studies, webinars, newsletters, and factsheets; enhanced visibility at international trade fairs and conferences through joint marketing activities and pavilions; and dedicated networking formats such as delegation trips, business matchmaking events, and company visits. A key tool is the online business directory featuring over 3,500 profiles of German healthcare companies, designed to facilitate connections between German providers and potential international partners.
This visit to Korea is part of the international business activities under the Healthcare Export Initiative. It aims to promote business dialogue, open new doors for collaboration, and further strengthen the long-standing and innovative partnership between Germany and Korea in the healthcare sector.
