As part of the Partnering in Business with Germany program, we supported managers from Ethiopia in establishing business relationships with German companies in 2024. The central stay in Germany took place from February 26 to March 8, 2024 and focused on the manufacturing, food production and construction sectors.
The Partnering in Business with Germany program (PG), initiated by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection (BMWK), aims to support small and medium-sized German companies in opening up international markets, especially in emerging and developing countries. As the implementing organization, trAIDe GmbH prepared executives from one of the 17 partner countries for business contacts.
The program consisted of three phases: In the online phase, participants were prepared for their business start-ups through training and advice, including targeted partner searches and intercultural training. The stay in Germany enabled the delegation from Ethiopia to visit selected companies and take part in B2B meetings with potential business partners. A follow-up phase and networking event deepened the relationships established.
Ethiopia, located in East Africa, is characterized by an emerging economy driven by agriculture, services and industry. The agricultural industry in particular plays a key role, as Ethiopia is known as one of the largest coffee producers in the world. The government actively promotes investment for industrialization and economic diversification.
The Ethiopian delegation reflected the diversity of the country’s emerging economy and included high-level representatives from the agriculture and technology sectors. Their cooperation objectives ranged from promoting sustainable agricultural practices to developing renewable energy sources and promoting technology partnerships. The delegation actively sought international partnerships to promote economic exchange and strengthen the investment climate in Ethiopia.
The visit provided a valuable opportunity to explore bilateral cooperation and deepen intercultural exchange. Schedule a consultation to learn more about the program’s successes!
